Bohn's nodule is a lesion believed to be related to salivary gland remnants. It appears as a raised area located on the lateral portion of the alveolar ridge or between the midpalatal raphe and alveolar crest in the maxilla.

Dental lamina cysts are believed to be remnants of the dental lamina that are the embryologic precursors of teeth. They are epithelial in origin and located on the alveolar ridge in either the mandible or maxilla. Treatment is watchful waiting as these cysts usually disappear after 3 months.
