Small fractures of primary teeth may leave a roughened tooth surface and may require smoothing. Larger fractures will require restoration with bonded dental materials. If the fracture exposes the pulp, a pulp (or endodontic) treatment is necessary before restoring the fracture. Fractures must be assessed radiographically to determine if root fractures are present.
