What type of file will
I be downloading?
The file you will be downloading is a .jpg file.(i.e., 01ergohi.jpg).
What is a "JPG file"
in our Slide Library?
It is a file that is internet standard, cross-platform formatted. It can be
used for creating a PowerPoint® slide presentation
and viewed in all web browsers. "JPEG files" have a jpg extension
(i.e., 01ergohi.jpg).
How do I create a slide
from this image?
You will need to take the file to a local slide processing center that can work
with digital files. It is a good idea to call the processing center before you
go to find out their specific requirements for accepting files, i.e., can they
accept files on ZipDisks®, or a SyQuest®
cartridge, etc.
What does the slide processing
center need to produce the slide?
You must copy the file onto a removable media (i.e., floppy disk, ZipDisk®
or SyQuest® cartridge, etc.). Be sure to label
your disk with the file name and file type (i.e. 01ergo.jpg). For 35mm
slide output, inform the processing center to set the "slide background
fill" to black. This will avoid having white areas appear
around your slide images.
If your school has a
Media Department, how can you forward the slides electronically?
If you are not sure how to forward the slides electronically to your school's
Media Department, please contact the manager for details.
Can these slides be used
to create a PowerPoint® on-screen slide show?
Yes. First determine which images you would like to include in your slide
presentation. Download them, then follow these instructions:
How do I view the
on-screen slideshow in PowerPoint®?
From the menu bar, select View, then Slideshow...,
then Manual. Then the first slide will appear.
Click the arrow to advance through the remainder of the presentation.
How can I
avoid having white areas appear around my images in PowerPoint®
and 35mm slides?
It is recommended that the slide background color be set to black when
creating your PowerPoint®
presentation.
For 35mm slide output, inform your Processing Center or Service Bureau to set the "slide background fill" to black. This will avoid having white areas appear around your slide images.
