Captain Power Clean: I’m Captain Power Clean. It’s time to bring a little excitement to your brushing routine. Follow me!

Captain Clean: To get started, click on one of the topics. One: Why Teeth & Gums Are Super Important. Two: How Plaque Harms Teeth & Gums. Three: Keeping Teeth & Gums Healthy Every Day.

Captain Power Clean: Welcome to Chapter One, Why Teeth & Gums Are Super Important.

So, kiddo, let’s start with the basics. Why do you think you have teeth?

Boy: Hmmm, I guess it would be hard to eat a crunchy apple or any healthy foods without teeth.

Captain Power Clean: Ha, ha, you’re absolutely right. Your teeth allow you to eat healthy meals every day.

Boy: Wow, with the way I eat, my teeth are doing a lot of work. Are the teeth I have now the same ones I will have when I’m older?

Captain Power Clean: Well, right now your baby teeth may be starting to loosen and fall out. Your permanent teeth will come in. You’re right that your teeth do a lot of work, and it’s important to take care of both baby and permanent teeth.

Boy: My permanent teeth must be pretty strong if they’re going to last.

Captain Power Clean: They sure are, kiddo. Your teeth have and outer layers and inner layers. There’s also a root that lives in your gums.

Boy: What are gums?

Captain Power Clean: Oh, gums are the soft pink skin around your teeth.

Boy: I guess it’s important that I take care of my teeth and gums.

Captain Power Clean: It sure is.

Captain Power Clean: Welcome to Chapter Two, How Plaque Harms Teeth & Gums.

Captain Power Clean: Your teeth and gums are amazing, and it’s up to you to protect them.

Boy: Protect them from what?

Captain Power Clean: Plaque germs.

ADD SUPER ON SCREEN: plaque germs

They really like sugary treats so eating healthy is one way to protect your teeth and gums.

Boy: Yuck, Plaque germs are gross. But to be honest, they don’t seem that bad.

Captain Power Clean: Oh, no, kiddo, plaque is harmful! When left on the tooth, it can cause holes in the tooth called cavities.

ADD SUPER ON SCREEN: cavities

Cavities are serious and must be repaired by a dental professional.

Boy: Yikes, it sounds like plaque can really hurt my teeth.

Captain Power Clean: Not just your teeth- but your gums too. Bacteria in plaque can make gums red and swollen and cause them to bleed.

ADD SUPER ON SCREEN: bacteria

Boy: That sounds awful. Other than eating healthy, what else can I do to take care of my teeth and gums?

Captain Power Clean: Well, that’s where I come in. With me, and a couple of my friends by your side everyday, you can take care of your teeth and gums every day at least twice a day- Not to mention have a bit of fun along the way.

Captain Power Clean: Welcome to Chapter Three, Keeping Teeth & Gums Healthy Every Day

As we discussed earlier, your teeth and gums need to be kept clean. With the help of the Amazing Clean Team, you can defend your mouth.

Each member of the Clean Team has a special talent. As the leader of the Clean Team, let’s start with my job.

Toothbrushes lift and remove plaque from teeth and gums. Brushing two times a day, for two minutes each time you brush, gives you maximum brushing power.

Captain Power Clean: And for a little extra fun, ask your dental professional about a power brush like me. I’ve been known to make brushing a little easier.

Boy: Wait second. Did you say I have to brush for a whole two minutes? That’s a long time.

Captain Power Clean: Well, actually that time flies if you have the next member of the clean team, the Disney® Magic Timer™ App Ask your mom or dad to download this app onto your tablet or phone. It’s made to help you brush properly in all the right places for 2 minutes; plus it’s a ton of fun.

Boy: Wow, that’s pretty cool.

Captain Power Clean: It certainly is. Let me introduce you to the rest of the Clean Team.

There’s Fluoride Toothpaste, and with just a pea-sized amount on any toothbrush, you can polish all of your teeth and strengthen your enamel, the hard outer layer of your teeth.

There’s floss: small but really powerful. It helps remove plaque from places that you may have trouble reaching.

And to round out the team, fluoride rinse is also an option. Swishing a rinse daily just like the instructions tell you can help you reach the areas you may miss with a brush.

Boy: Cool, I didn’t realize I have so many options that can help me keep my teeth and gums healthy. And thanks for showing me how amazing the experience can be.

Captain Power Clean: Sure thing, kiddo. Oh, I almost forgot, there’s one more important step you can take to keep your mouth the healthiest. Be sure to visit your dental office every six months. You’ll get a super cleaning while you’re there, plus find out if there are any issues you need to work on to ensure a healthy smile for life.

Boy: This has been super helpful. Thanks again Captain Power Clean.

Captain Power Clean: No problem. For more information about the Amazing World of Oral Care, have your parents speak to your dental professional or visit www.oralb.com/stages.
