Cancer therapies commonly result in oral complications that significantly affect patient quality of life. Oral mucositis, xerostomia, dysgeusia, and nutritional compromise are among the most challenging side effects, and dental professionals can be key in supporting these patients. This course equips dental professionals with the knowledge and strategies needed to recognize, prevent, and manage common oral manifestations of cancer therapy. Emphasis will be placed on current evidence-based guidelines for prevention and management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the role of dental professionals in mitigating complications and supporting patients throughout their cancer journey, inspired by her own dentist father’s cancer journey.
