Overview
Blood pressure is more than a number collected before treatment. It can reflect vascular health, medication response, sleep and airway disorders, metabolic disease, and overall cardiovascular risk.
This course goes beyond the basics of hypertension to examine resistant and masked hypertension, pulse pressure, orthostatic changes, medication effects, sleep apnea, obesity, diabetes, menopause, kidney disease, inflammation, and oral-systemic connections.
Using current AHA and ACC recommendations, participants will learn to obtain accurate readings, interpret abnormal patterns, recognize when findings should influence dental care, and communicate concerns effectively with patients and medical colleagues.
