Patient Profile: Patient is a 62-year old White Caucasian female.

Chief Complaint: "My teeth are sensitive to cold, gums bleed when I brush and my mouth is dry most of the time."

Dental History: Patient does not receive routine dental care; seeks treatment only when in pain.

Medical History: Patient was hospitalized five years ago for kidney stones and a hysterectomy. She reports frequent kidney and urinary tract infections. Patient is taking: (Alprazolam) Xanax®, (Ciprofloxacin) Cipro® and (Glyburide) Micronase®.

Extraoral Examination:

  • Assessment reported all within normal limits.

Supplemental Information:

  • Patient reports sucking on hard candy to relieve her dry mouth.
