Fractured permanent teeth should be evaluated as soon as possible for pulpal exposure. After controlling hemorrhage, exposed healthy pulp tissue in immature permanent teeth is covered with a material such as calcium hydroxide or mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) prior to placing a restoration that seals the tooth from microleakage. Periodic evaluation of pulpal condition is required.
