Patients often seek dental care to address a variety of oral concerns. Two common non-tooth-related complaints include xerostomia and a variety of vesiculo-ulcerative, immunopathic diseases. The purpose of this course is to provide a brief overview of the common causes of dry mouth, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, erythema multiforme, lichen planus, benign mucous membrane pemphigoid, and pemphigus and to present contemporary pharmacologic strategies to address the patient’s concerns.
