Scott Aurnou, Esq, CISSP, CIPP/US, CIPT, FIP

Scott Aurnou is an attorney, information security consultant and founder of The Security Advocate. He spent over a decade as a litigation attorney in the NYC area, served as lead counsel for a private client services group at Smith Barney, and has provided consulting, legal and management services to a number of organizations, ranging from multinationals to security and risk management startups. He has published security related articles in national publications including the New York Law Journal and SC Magazine. In addition, he has developed and delivered numerous presentations on information security and data privacy issues for executives, managers, and professionals.

Scott is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). He also authored the Introduction to Information Security LiveLessons video training series for Pearson Publishing and serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board at Rutgers University.
