Two Papers Show Rapid Gingivitis Effects For Novel Crest Snf2 Formulations With Amino Acid Glycine

A paper in the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry demonstrates rapid and sustained anti-gingivitis efficacy for Crest Pro-Health Advanced Gum Restore SnF2 dentifrice with the amino acid glycine. The novel dentifrice produced statistically significant gingival bleeding reductions versus the negative control as soon as one week. At Week 12, subjects using the stannous fluoride dentifrice had 25.6% lower plaque scores, 33.4% fewer bleeding sites, and 6 times greater odds of transitioning from localized or generalized gingivitis to generally healthy versus the negative control. The trial was conducted with the Silverstone Research Group.

Another recent paper in the American Journal of Dentistry demonstrates rapid anti-gingivitis efficacy for Crest dentifrice marketed in China with stannous chloride, sodium fluoride and the amino acid glycine. The novel dentifrice produced statistically significant reductions in Mazza GI scores (15%) and gingival bleeding sites (33%) versus the NaF negative control as soon as Day 3. The gingivitis and bleeding site benefit for the stannous dentifrice increased at Week 2 to 24% and 55%, respectively. The trial was conducted with Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital in China.
