Adverse drug reactions are characterized as “on-target,” “off-target,” and cytotoxic. A review of the 30 most common ADRs and specific ADRs affecting the oral cavity was presented. Considering the increasing number of medications prescribed in contemporary medicine, the prevalence of ADRs affecting the dental patient’s cohort will surely rise. The oral healthcare provider is obliged to take into consideration the spectrum of potential ADRs affecting the oral tissues and various organ systems.
